Jackson Bronack is a graduate student in the department of French and Italian. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Philosophy and French in 2022. As an undergraduate, Jackson studied several prominent French thinkers of the 20th century and became deeply interested in learning the French language. He decided to major in French and spent time studying abroad in the south of France. Prior to joining Northwestern, he spent a year living in Remiremont, France, where he taught English to middle and high school students. These experiences helped him acquire a near-native level in French and provided the pedagogical backing to prepare for a career in teaching.
His general research interests include critical theory, 20th and 21st century French philosophy and literature, and critical pedagogy.
