FRENCH AND ITALIAN DEPARTMENT

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF INSTRUCTION IN ITALIAN

 

Northwestern University’s Department of French and Italian invites applications for a renewable, three-year appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Italian, to begin September 1, 2022. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position that requires six units of teaching over three quarters per year. The successful candidate will work with existing faculty in Italian and will teach elementary and intermediate Italian language. Applicants will be required to demonstrate evidence of native or near-native proficiency in Italian and in English and prior experience in teaching Italian as FL/L2. PhD in Italian or in a related field required.  A commitment to professional development, research, and/or creative work in language pedagogy, linguistics, or Italian studies is highly desired.

The candidate will be asked to provide three contacts for the letters at the time the application is submitted. Referees will then be automatically contacted and asked to submit their letters.
