Daniel Guerrero

Daniel Guerrero (he/him/his) is a PhD student in French and Francophone studies at Northwestern University. Born and raised in Mexico City, he holds a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences from Mexico's National Autonomous University, and a master’s degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he won the Outstanding TA award for Spring 2026. A former audiovisual translator with four working languages, his research has been presented at conferences in Miami, Boston, San Francisco and Pittsburgh, with upcoming presentations in Chicago and Los Angeles, and his book reviews have appeared in The French Review, Women in French Studies and Le Bulletin de la Société Internationale Marguerite Duras. His academic interests lie in contemporary queer cinema and literature in French, medical humanities and narratives about the HIV epidemic.
