Valentin Lorange

Lecturer

After two years of intensive preparatory studies in literature and social sciences at the Lycée Guist'hau in Nantes, Valentin Lorange graduated from the Faculty de Lettres at Sorbonne University, in both Sociology and Philosophy. He then joined the Philosophy Department of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris, where he began a Master's degree in History of Philosophy. While keeping an eye on the social sciences and humanities, he specialized in contemporary French philosophy, and particularly the philosophy of situationist Cornelius Castoriadis and his concept of social imaginary, on which he is preparing a master’s thesis.

After various volunteer experiences of teaching and popularizing his discipline, he joined Northwestern University's Department of French and Italian for the 2023 academic year.
