Gorgui I. Tall
Ph.D. 2023
Gorgui I. Tall completed his Ph.D. in the department of French & Italian in 2023. Ibou obtained his B.A from Université Gaston Berger, Senegal. Then he went to France to get his masters in English and Anglophone Literature and Civilization from Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne. In 2013, Ibou joined Texas Tech University for a second master’s degree, this time in French and Francophone Literature. His current research investigates the ways in which the language of technoculture shapes the mechanisms of cultural production in the postcolonial francophone African novel. More particularly, he uses technology as an analytical framework to examine forms of being/humaness and community that emerge from this literary practice, with a focus on plurality, relationality, and auto-translation.
