Noran received a B.A. in French and a B.S. in Biology at the University of South Carolina in 2014. Prior to her arrival at Northwestern, she spent a year teaching English in Montpellier, France. Her current research examines the functioning of corporeality and its relationship to narrative in a selection of Maghrebi novels. More specifically, she examines the ways in which the figure of the corpse readjusts and displaces narrative framing and limits, effecting our understanding of memories, experiences, identities as they relate to the distinction of life from death.
